TRILOMBRIN is an effective anthelmintic against parasitic infestations caused by Enterobius
vermicularis (pinworms), Ascaris lumbricoides (ascariasis), Ancylostoma duodenale and
Necator americanus (uncinariasis) and Trichostrongylus colubriformis and orientalis (trichostrongyliasis).
TRILOMBRIN has some activity against Trichuris trichiura (trichocephalosis).
TRILOMBRIN exerts a neuromuscular blocking action on sensitive helminths, immobilizing
the parasites and causing their expulsion without producing excitation or stimulating their migration. In the
intestine, TRILOMBRIN is effective against both mature and immature forms of sensitive helminths.
The normal migratory phases of the worms are not affected. TRILOMBRIN is poorly absorbed by
the digestive tract. After administration, more than 50% is eliminated unchanged in the feces; less than
7% is found in the urine unchanged and in the form of metabolites.
