Formulated without alcohol, it forms a protective film that isolates the canker sore or lesion from the oral cavity to reduce pain. Aloe vera is well known for its topical use. This is because of its mucilage (gel) and high-water content that provide a barrier against skin dehydration. It can be found in products for oily and sensitive skin, sun care products such as aftersun lotions and also in toothpastes.
Cosmetic products containing its extract have moisturising, soothing and healing properties. They also provide a cooling sensation on irritated skin. It is an ingredient suitable for all skin types.
