Hydrocolloid hydrofibre dressing, sterile, white. Adaptable and highly absorbent, it interacts with the lesion exudate and forms a gel that maintains an optimal moist medium for the healing process of the lesions. It is a non-woven dressing, made of hydrocolloid fibres (sodium carboxymethyl cellulose). Easy to remove, with little or no involvement of the neoformed tissues. The dressing can remain on the lesion for up to seven days, however when used on highly exudative lesions or for other clinical reasons, the dressing may need to be changed more frequently. Used for vascular ulcers and pressure ulcers. Help control minor bleeding. It is indicated in the above mentioned ulcers that are prone to bleeding as in cases of mechanical or surgical debridement. Dimensions 2.5 x 40 cm.
Before applying the dressing, the lesion should be debrided and cleaned with a cleansing agent to be determined by the healthcare professional. Apply the dressing over the lesion and cover with a secondary dressing. It may remain for 7 days. A highly exudative lesion may require more frequent dressing changes.
Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose fibers.
