Traditionally dandelion has been used for its ability to stimulate the production and release of bile. Also, due to the richness of mineral salts and flavonoids, dandelion stimulates diuresis, behaving as a good cleanser.

On the other hand, dandelion has a very mild mechanical laxative effect, as a result of its mucilage and other polysaccharides. This effect is manifested after 24 hours of administration.

It is also an appetite stimulant. Due to the presence of bitter substances, dandelion stimulates the taste buds, which by a reflex effect increase the production of gastrointestinal juices, stimulating appetite.
