It is a superfood that is produced from germinated seeds of Fagopyrum esculentum. Also called black wheat, while it is not a cereal in the botanical sense of the term, but it is by its use.
It is an excellent source of protein (up to 15% of the seed), and a weak content of saturated fats.
After thorough washing, the peeled buckwheat seeds are germinated for 1 to 2 days under fully controlled conditions, dried within 24 hours at a maximum temperature of 42°C. This procedure guarantees maximum quality and the preservation of nutrients and enzymes, compared to the usual industrial treatments where the seeds are subjected to temperatures that can reach 100°C.
Thanks to the organic cultivation and this form of treatment, Biotona's Germinated Buckwheat is a healthy, crunchy product with a slightly sweet taste.
