Sweet almonds are known for their nutritious properties. They provide healthy fats, vitamins E and B2, proteins and minerals such as magnesium, calcium and potassium. We can include this food in our diet either by consuming it as a nut, in oil form for seasoning (not advisable for cooking) and also in plant-based drinks. The Spanish Heart Foundation recommends nuts as part of a balanced diet for their nutritional benefits and to maintain cardiovascular health. On the other hand, their caloric value is significant and should be taken into account, due to their high contribution of healthy fats and low water content. However, its fibre content stands out compared to other nuts, according to the Spanish Nutrition Foundation. In moderate consumption, a handful of nuts a day is part of the Mediterranean diet and is a very healthy snack.
