Lavender essential oil (Lavandula angustifolia) is known for its calming and anti-stress properties. It provides an overall sense of well-being and soothing effect and promotes relaxation and sleep. It also combats itching caused by bug bites and small wounds.
It can be used in a diffuser, by directly applying a few drops on the skin, inhaled, massaged with a vegetable oil, or internally mixed with a teaspoon of honey or sugar cube, always in strict compliance with the dosage indicated by the manufacturer.
Lavender essential oil is not indicated during pregnancy, lactation, for children under 6 years, for people who are hypersensitive to essential oils, for people allergic to its ingredients, for people with asthma, with a history of epilepsy or convulsions, or for people with heart conditions such as hypertension or arrhythmia. Essential oils cannot replace medical treatment. When in doubt, consult a healthcare specialist.
