Description

The Euphidra Seborrheic Dermatitis Shampoo is an effective cosmetic aid for controlling seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp. Enriched with metallic silver for a powerful antimicrobial action, it combats the external causes of the condition and prevents attacks from pathogens. Its gentle formula, free from aggressive surfactants, helps to rebalance the scalp, reducing sebum production.

The main ingredients include:

  • Water
  • Lauryl glucoside
  • Glycerin
  • Cocamidopropyl betaine
  • Sodium myreth sulfate
  • Acrylates copolymer
  • Other carefully selected components

Free from parabens and SLES, this shampoo has been dermatologically tested and subjected to nickel, chromium, and cobalt testing. The addition of metallic silver contributes to the antimicrobial effect of the product.

Pharmaceutical Advice

Seborrhoeic dermatitis is a skin condition that usually affects the scalp. It can also affect other oily areas of the body such as the face, sides of the nose, eyebrows, ears, eyelids and chest.

Persistent scaling with itching or discomfort usually occurs. Its formation is related to excessive activity of the sebaceous glands and alteration of the skin microbiome (overgrowth of fungi of the genus Malassezia). It can be aggravated by the effect of some medications.

Certain factors can trigger the appearance of seborrhoeic dermatitis, so it is advisable to keep them at bay or take preventive measures: stress, extreme temperatures, oily skin or skin with underlying acne, excessive alcohol consumption or obesity.

To improve seborrhoeic dermatitis, it is recommended to use non-irritating face soaps and/or shampoos with specific ingredients to counteract the problem (sebum-regulating, soothing, keratolytic, antipruritic, plant extracts with antiseptic and antifungal properties, etc.). In the case of shampoos, I recommend alternating their use with another very gentle and balancing cleanser. In a facial routine, as well as a specific facial cleanser, complete the treatment with an emulsion that includes some of the ingredients described above, and oil-free sunscreen. I recommend avoiding soaps that are too astringent, as well as cosmetics with too much of an oily phase, so as not to increase the sebum in the skin.
