Glucomannan is a water-soluble dietary fibre from konjac, an Asian plant with proven benefits to assist in weight-loss diets and in maintaining normal blood cholesterol levels.

It is a fibre with great capacity to capture water and increase its volume (turning into a gel). This is why its intake in dietary supplement form provides a feeling of fullness, as well as helping to maintain normal cholesterol values and reduce blood glucose spikes. It may also help to improve bowel movement. But what glucomannan is best known for is that it can support weight loss journeys, always in the context of a low-calorie diet prescribed by a professional and an active lifestyle.

Take the supplement according to the manufacturer's instructions and to professional judgement. It should be taken with an abundant amount of water and should be avoided before bedtime and in people that have issues swallowing. Excess glucomannan intake may cause gas, abdominal discomfort, intestinal obstruction or impair the bioavailability of some medicines.
