Description

Dietary supplement formulated with methionine, cystine, silica, collagen, vitamins C, E, B3, B8, B5 and B6. Product designed to support the maintenance of the scalp and nails.

On the one hand, biotin (vitamin B8) helps maintain normal hair and skin, as does niacin (vitamin B3). Vitamin E and vitamin C help protect cells against oxidative stress, and zinc helps maintain hair and nails in normal condition. The association of cystine and methionine, gives rise to the composition of the fundamental structure of nails and hair: keratin.

L-cystine is a sulphur-containing amino acid that is contained in keratin, the protein that makes up nails and hair. A good dietary intake of L-cystine therefore contributes to good hair and nail health. Food sources of L-cystine include meat, cephalopods (such as cuttlefish and squid), nuts and seeds, and spirulina algae. It can also be added to the diet in the form of a booster supplement. Taken with vitamin B6, it is a good support for healthy hair fibre formation and nail growth.
