• glutamic acid
• cysteine
• glycine

This tripeptide is part of the enzyme glutathione peroxidase, one of the most potent antioxidants in the body. Glutathione is found in all cells in the body, with the highest concentration in the liver.

Since it can be formed from these three amino acids in the body, it is considered non-essential because it does not have to be obtained from food.
