It has a bluish-gray trunk and a deciduous, fibrous bark that peels off in long ribbons. The flowers appear in spring in the axils of the leaves. They are usually whitish in color and are protected before hatching by an operculum, which probably gave the tree its name (Greek eucalyptol = well covered). Precautions and Warnings Contains eucalyptol. Not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women or children under 6 years of age.
