Hygienic pads designed to help prevent leaks and stains after childbirth or surgery. Made with 100% organic and hypoallergenic cotton, they help prevent irritation of the intimate area. Their texture allows the skin to breathe, favoring wound healing, such as in cases of episiotomy. The outer biopolymer side is waterproof, ensuring a seal that prevents leakage.
Read and follow carefully the instructions provided by the manufacturer.
After a vaginal or caesarean birth, secretions known as lochia (a mixture of vaginal fluids made of blood and placental tissue that are secreted during the 4 to 6 weeks after birth) are produced. If the lochia is foul-smelling or causes fever or pain, it is important to see a gynaecologist.
These secretions vary day to day. Postpartum pads should also adapt to every specific moment's needs. During the first few days after childbirth, secretions are more abundant and pads that cover a larger area and have a greater absorption capacity are recommended. They should be changed as often as necessary. Afterwards, the size of the pad can be adjusted according to changes in secretions.
The most important aspect to take into account is the material of the pad: for the first few days, 100% pure cotton is highly recommended (especially the area in contact with the skin). This ensures better healing of the vulvar area and less irritation (especially if there are stitches). It is the most hypoallergenic and softest material. Subsequently, pads that combine other materials can be used, such as cellulose, with wings for better support, etc. You can choose the most comfortable one for you at any given moment.
