Description

Nutrisens long muffins are designed for special medical uses. They are adapted in case of malnutrition, i.e. a pathological condition in which the nutritional intake is insufficient to cover the needs of the organism. The causes of this condition can be multiple and can lead to serious consequences. Malnutrition can also lead to a decrease in the body's defences or muscle wasting. Patients in health and medico-social institutions, as well as the elderly, are particularly at risk. These long muffins have a high protein and energy content. They can be used as a supplement to an already fortified diet or as a single supplement. They provide vitamin D and calcium for bones and protein for muscles. These long muffins are packaged in a pouch and are ready to use, which makes them very easy to use.

Pharmaceutical Advice

Vitamin D, also known as calciferol, is one of the fat-soluble vitamins that is essential to support normal bone and teeth formation and helps to absorb calcium, increasing their strength and keeping them healthy. It has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that contribute to a healthy immune system and muscle function. It also helps to regulate blood phosphorus level.

Vitamin D can be obtained in three different ways: through the skin by exposure to the sun and from foods and/or supplements that contain vitamin D. In case of vitamin D deficiency or excess, it is important to consult a healthcare professional for diagnosis and advice. Remember that dietary supplements should not replace a healthy and balanced diet.
