This is a functional therapeutic device made of thermoplastic and lined with absorbent terry cloth to absorb moisture and increase comfort. This product is a specially designed splint to aid immobilisation of the hand in a flat functional position. The plastic used in this splint can be molded under a stream of hot air. This therapeutic article has wrist and forearm straps with velvet thumb and safety inserts. These Orliman compression and flexion control straps are made of velvet. There are various useful indications of this splint for neurological injuries of central or peripheral origin (spastic and flaccid paralysis). It is suitable as a treatment for the prevention of rheumatic deformities, as well as to relieve pain and reduce inflammation.
