The sun has numerous benefits for our hair. It promotes calcium absorption and helps activate blood circulation to the scalp, which results in faster hair growth. However, long term or excessive exposure to the sun can affect your hair, causing it to lose its usual moisture and oxidise it. The ongoing effect of UVA and UVB rays results in coarser hair, split ends and the gradual loss of colour. This is mainly because the constant action of the sun's rays causes the alteration of cysteine, a non-essential amino acid that is keratin's main component.
To slow down the deterioration of the hair fibre, it is important to use sunscreen that acts as a barrier and helps block most of the radiation. As a brief guide, if your hair is thick, oil-based products are best, while spray or mist-based products are recommended for fine hair. Cream sunscreens are recommended for medium and/or normal hair. Remember to apply sunscreen every 2 hours and avoid sun exposure in the middle of the day (from noon to 16:00).

I like it because it leaves the hair very soft, it does not dry it out. To moisturize curly hair and to be able to go out dressed up without having to wash my hair often.
