It has wide use in natural medicine to help painful menstrual cycles, chronic cough of smokers, haemorrhoids and varicose veins, mainly. Thanks to its levels of myrtenyl acetate, it promotes nervous balance and brings peace. Many people have indicated its sedative power and to fall asleep. In cosmetics, it is highly valued as a tonic, astringent and cellular regenerator in mature skins. In the culinary art, it delicately flavours meats and soups. It is not recommended during pregnancy, lactation and in children under six years old.

Myrtus communis pure essential oil with the following main compounds: cineol, myrtenyl acetate, pinene, limonene, geraniol and linalool.
