Clean the Claricup™ menstrual cup with water using Clarigyna™ intimate shower gel or a mild soap and rinse thoroughly with clear water. Finally, disinfect the Claricup™ menstrual cup; for this you have two options: • Option 1: Place the Claricup™ menstrual cup stem down in its Claribox. Cover with water up to the marking. Leave the lid open and place the Claribox in the microwave for 5 minutes at 750 Watts. • Option 2: Immerse the Claricup™ menstrual cup in a pot of boiling water for 7 minutes. The Claricup™ menstrual cup is now disinfected. Wait for the Claricup™ menstrual cup to cool down before using it to avoid the risk of burns and tearing of the silicone. NB: The Claricup™ menstrual cup should not be worn outside of your period. How to use your Claricup menstrual cup? • Fold your menstrual cup into a U shape or "PunchDown." Each of us is different, practice to choose the fold that suits you best. Discover our detailed folding methods here. • Insert your Claricup menstrual cup. The menstrual cup may seem large and therefore difficult to insert. However, it is not difficult or painful to insert the Claricup. With a little practice, the action will become easy and quick; it will certainly take you a few cycles to get used to it and find your rhythm. It is important to wash your hands well before any insertion or removal of your Claricup. • Remove your Claricup Wash your hands before handling your Claricup. Your Claricup should be emptied every 6 hours. Sit on the toilet and relax to remove your Claricup. Your Claricup is held in place by your vaginal muscles, any tension will make removal difficult. To remove your menstrual cup, pinch the base of your Claricup to break the suction effect and insert your finger along the side of the Claricup. You may hear a noise when your Claricup detaches from your vaginal wall. Gently pull on the base to lower your menstrual cup. The stem of the menstrual cup serves as a guide. It will help you find the base of the Claricup. Do not pull on the stem. Pour the contents into the toilet. • Clean your menstrual cup Rinse your Claricup before reinserting it or use a second Claricup and place your used Claricup in its Claribox (sometimes the toilet you are in does not allow you to discreetly clean your Claricup). • Disinfect your Claricup. If possible, disinfect your menstrual cup before each insertion. If you do not have this option, clean your menstrual cup with a mild soap, such as our Clarigyna intimate shower gel. To disinfect your menstrual cup, you have 2 options: • Option 1: Place your Claricup stem down in its Claribox. Cover with water. Leave the lid open and place your Claribox in the microwave for 5 minutes at 750W. • Option 2: Immerse the Claricup menstrual cup in a pot of boiling water for 7 minutes. The Claricup™ menstrual cup is now disinfected. Wait for the Claricup™ menstrual cup to cool down before using it to avoid the risk of burns and tearing of the silicone. • Reuse it! Instructions for use

• Wash your hands thoroughly before handling the product.
• Sterilise before use. Boil the cup for 3 to 5 minutes, dry and wait for it to cool before inserting.
• To insert: Bend the cup to insert it in the vagina. The most common shape is a 'c' shape, grasp the cup with your fingers so that it holds this shape during insertion. Try to find a position that makes insertion easier (squatting, placing one leg on a high object or lying down). Use lubricant or moisten the cup to facilitate insertion.
Push all the way in, once inside, the cup will unfold to form a secure leak-proof area.
• To remove: Squeeze the bottom of the cup, empty the contents into the toilet, rinse, clean and dry.
*Maximum usage time without removing the cup is usually about 12 hours. After this time boil the cup in a saucepan or specific sterilising pot for 3 to 5 minutes. Keep it in its box or bag until your next period.

Pharmaceutical Advice

Menstrual cups are made of a flexible, soft, hypoallergenic material that respects the natural vagina flora and prevents dryness and irritation. They collect more blood than tampons or pads but must be emptied and washed regularly and should not be used for more than 12 hours. Choosing the menstrual cup has several advantages. In the long term it is cheaper than using tampons and pads, it does not cause dryness and maintains the vagina’s natural moisture. The hypoallergenic material used to make menstrual cups does not produce any kind of reaction or allergy and does not smell as it is not in contact with the air. Of course, it is an eco-friendly and planet-friendly option.

It is important to choose the right menstrual cup size. They are usually classified as S, M and L, but some brands choose letters and others indicate their size according to their capacity. The size may vary depending on your flow (whether it is heavy, medium or light) or whether you have had children. To help you choose, if you have given birth the best option is an L, if you are over 30 and have no children you could choose a size M and if you are younger, in general, your size will be an S.

It is compatible with IUDs and other contraceptive methods.

Regarding sex, all menstrual cups are suitable for non-penetrative sex, although there are now some menstrual cups in the market designed to use during penetrative sex.
