Artemisia (Artemisia vulgaris), in folk medicine has been used in cases of poor appetite, dyspepsia, flatulence, hepatobiliary dyskinesias, gastrointestinal spasms, persistent vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, irregular periods, dysmenorrhea, oxyuriasis, infantile convulsions, varicose veins and nervousness. It stands out above all for being an excellent digestive tonic, very useful in periods of lack of appetite and to rebalance the functions of the digestive system. For medicinal purposes the flowering tops are harvested and left to dry in the shade. Of mugwort is used the dried plant, chopped, for infusion, tincture, dry and fluid extracts, essential oil and syrup.
